How to Enlarge Fonts on a Website

How to Enlarge Fonts on a Website

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Why do you want to know this?

We are getting a bit older (even though we don’t like to be reminded of this) and our eyesight is not what it used to be. Many of us complain that the font is not large enough on websites. Sometimes we also want to show someone an article and it would be easier to show if it were enlarged.

How do you do this?

1. For  PC – Press and hold the Control button (Ctrl) at the bottom left corner of your keyboard along with pressing the +/= button at the top right side of your keyboard. You will see the text enlarge. Press again and it will enlarge more.

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel press and hold the Ctrl key and  move the wheel forward to enlarge fonts or move the wheel backward to make fonts smaller.

2. For Mac – Press and hold the Command button next to the space bar at the bottom on your keyboard and press the +/= button at the top right side of your keyboard. You will see the text enlarge. Press again and it will enlarge more.

3. To make fonts smaller press Ctrl –  for PC and Command –  for Mac.

4. To bring fonts back to the original size press Ctrl 0 for PC and Command 0 for Mac

I can’t believe how simple and important this tip is. My eyesight is getting worse but the fonts on my computer seem to be getting smaller too. Now I know what to do to feel young again…press CTRL +:-)
