How do you connect to a Wi-Fi network?

Written Tip

1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon wireless icon  on the Menu bar at the top of your screen (see arrow below).

2. A drop-down menu will appear with a list of network names. Click on the name that is associated with your location. (We are connecting to  network 5ghz). If the network is private (there is a lock to the right of the name) you need to enter a password. Next to the lock you see black curved lines in bold, which shows you how strong your reception is. Four bars is strong. One is usually too weak to work.

3. If locked, write your password in the white text box. After you enter the password once (most cafes give you the password) the computer recognizes it any time you return to the same location, as long as you check the box to Remember this network (see below).

4. Click Join.

5. Once you are connected you see the wireless icon wireless icon in bold on the menu bar. Left click on the icon and you see a check mark next to the wireless network in the drop-down menu.

If you are not able to connect, click on Live Help  and one of our helpers will be with you shortly.
